Chinese-themed games are a popular genre among online slots, as are Slingo games, in general. So, why not put the two together? Well, that’s exactly what the team behind Slingo Xing Yun Xian have done here. This is one of many Slingo UK products, so what makes this particular slot stand out from the others? Read on to find out.
If you haven’t played Slingo slots before, whilst they aren’t too radical a departure, they do play slightly different to traditional online slots as they combine aspects of bingo gameplay too (hence the name).
First things first, you need to set your stake, which can be done using the + and – minus buttons on the bottom left hand corner. Once you have that all locked in, other than any tweaks to your audio or display, you’re ready to go – just hit ‘Start Game’ (bottom right).
At the start of each game, you will be randomly assigned five numbers that will be revealed along the row beneath the main game board. The aim of the game is to match these numbers with those on the reels. Each game lasts for 11 spins, meaning you have 11 chances to match your five numbers.
Your chances are also improved by the fact that this game has 12 paylines, meaning your probability is higher on each of the 11 spins than it would be in most traditional 3x5 slots. With each Slingo win, your cash prize increases, with your progress shown in the ladder to the left of the screen.
If you’d like to increase your chance even more, up to eight extra spins can be purchased at the end of every round. Their price is dependent on which phase of the game you are in and what prizes are still to play for – the price for the next game will be shown on the main spin button.
It is entirely up to you whether you want to keep playing, extra spins or not. Alternatively, if you’re happy with your haul, you can always decide to stop playing by pressing ‘collect’ and you’ll walk away with your winnings.
When it comes to the visuals in Slingo Xing Yun Xian, the screen is very busy to say the least, with the various sections in the game board all containing plenty of details, so it can look it a little overwhelming at first. However, the Chinese influences are everywhere, from the trademark tiled roof that tops the reels, to the paper lanterns used for the numbers.
As this is a Slingo slot, there aren’t as many symbols as you would usually have. However, there are still the likes of the Chinese emperor, the devil-faced dragon head, stacks of gold coins, as well as the bonus symbols – but we’ll come on to those in a moment.
In terms of what kinds of prizes are on offer, you can win as little as 10p for one line and all the way up to the full house prize of 500x your total stake for completing all 11 lines. Of course, you might need a fortune cookie or two to navigate your way to the kind of money, but who knows?
Given the differences in gameplay, the kind of bonuses you find in Slingo games can often differ too. Luckily, in the Xing Yun Xian slot, this isn’t too unfamiliar. Here’s what is on offer:
As mentioned, there are a number of bonus symbols to be enjoyed in Slingo Xing Yun Xian, the first of which is the Joker. This tricksy gentleman is handy in a pinch, as if he appears on the reels, he allows you to mark off any number in the column above to help you complete a Slingo win.
But things get better still, as you can also find Super Jokers which, unbelievably, allows you to mark off any number you choose on the entire grid. Think of these Jokers as wildcard substitution symbols, only with the luxury of more choice.
The good fortune of the Joker doesn’t stop here either, as if you manage to find three of them (standard or Super) anywhere on the game board, you will be rewarded with a cash prize of £100, just like that! And that isn’t the only one…
Similar to the Joker symbols, if you find any of the gold coin symbols on the reels, you will also be rewarded with a cash prize, the amount of which will be decided by a random number generator (RNG).
Finally, back on familiar territory, this game does also have free spins on offer. As mentioned, extra spins can be purchased at the end of each round, however, a single free spin can be won through simply finding them on the reels like any of the other bonus symbols.
